FYI the NSF publication Fostering Learning in the Networked World: The Cyberlearning Opportunity and Challenge (A 21st Century Agenda for the NSF) is now available (release date June, 2008). Those engaged in online education might find it useful.

Default E&O Resources

I'm not sure the parameters of resources we're considering, but here are some of the ones I use consistently with K-12 classrooms and educators:

More to come...I'll look back at my real-time data resources that I've used in the past...Happy Looking!

Default Widgets

Okay, so maybe I'm a little hooked on this concept (and knowing me, by the time I actually *learn* how to make one, it will be passe), but I am still STRONGLY in support of GCOOS widgets that users can download on their desktops to visualize and display real-time data from the GCOOS data stream. I'm thinking we could start simple (e.g., SST) and work our way up from there.

I've been in touch with a company in Europe that develops widgets, but so much of it is open source that I'm almost willing to bet I could post a request on a widget forum and hook someone's interest.

Just my two cents...feel free to call me a nerd!
